The working principle of the planetary reducer is mainly based on the transmission of the planetary wheel system. The interaction of the internal gears achieves speed reduction and torque increasing.
Its internal structure mainly includes solar wheels, planet wheels, and inner gears circle. The solar wheel is located in the center and is driven by the input shaft; the planet wheel is located between the solar wheel and the inner gear circle, and there are usually multiple planetary wheels. The inner gears are fixed on the shell of the reducer. When the solar wheels rotate, the planetary wheels generate rotation under its action, and at the same time rotate along the orbits of the inner gear. This unique movement method enables the planetary reducer to achieve a higher deceleration ratio.
In addition, the design of the planetary reducer has the characteristics of compact structure, high transmission efficiency, and low noise, which are widely used in the industrial field.
Common specifictions of planetary reducers
Speed reduction ratio: The value of the inputting speed ratio to the output speed.
Stage number: Number of planetary gears’ stage. Because a set of planetary gears cannot meet a large transmission ratio, sometimes two or three sets are needed to meet the user's requirements for larger transmission ratios. Due to the increase of the number of planetary gears, the length of the planetary gearbox will increase and the efficiency will decrease.
Full load efficiency: Refers to the power transmission efficiency of the reducer with the maximum load (failure output torque).
Average lifetime: Refers to the continuous working time when the gearbox is carrying the rated load with the highest input speed.
Rated output torque: The standard output torque value for a planetary gear reducer. At this value, when the output speed is 100 rpm, the life span of the reducer is the average life. Exceeding this value, the average life span of the deceleration will decrease. When the output torque is more than twice the value, the reducer fails.
Lubrication: No need to lubricate. The planetary speed reducer is a full sealing device, so there is no need to use lubricating fat in the entire use period.
Noise: The unit is decibel (DB). This value is measured when the input speed is 3000 rpm/minute, without load, and one meter away from the reducer.
Backlash: Fix the output end, rotate the input end clockwise and counterclockwise, so that when the output end generates the rated torque ±2% torque, there is a tiny corner displacement at the input terminal of the reducer. The unit is arc-min, which is one-sixth of one degree.
